The Power of Jesus’ NAME! From Victim to Victor.

Couple arguing
Mentally, I know that as a Christian, I can count on the fact that tribulation will come. I also know in my head that I am not to fear it. It is just part of the process to grow me up in the most holy faith. I believe it. I know I was saved eternally by the Grace of God and that the power of Jesus’ name is real. I have always known my faith would be tested and indeed it has been tried and tested throughout these 45 plus years since putting my hand to the plow to follow Jesus wherever He leads me.

It’s a choice to rejoice.

I know it is a choice to rejoice as I endure through trouble and in my sufferings through the testings of my faith. Since “that day” when I decided to follow Jesus, I have been determined to stand before Him and with Him in His grace. Grace freely given. It is impossible to EARN. But I also know it is a choice to actually receive it personally. And, I have decided—as the song says—No turning back. No turning back.

“I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.”

Psalm 18:3, 6 NKJV

I have always believed that, but I had never actually tested that it was true.

God’s favor is amazing

He gives me the ability to do something which is humanly impossible for me to do apart from His grace. David Jeremiah says it is a divine kindness or an act of true compassion on the part of God Himself toward needy or undeserving human recipients.

Yes, I KNEW all of that in my head.

Then, came the opportunity to believe it in my heart. And respond with my actions.

He prepares us ahead of time with instruction that we are to use in our spiritual battles.

That day arrived totally unexpectedly.

It was a horrible day of fighting with my husband. We were both angry. We were in the doorway of our bedroom.

Both of our children were standing next to us. We were ALL crying and yelling.

It had never dawned on me that physical tribulation would come from my own husband. I was not prepared for what came next…

SUDDENLY…

I was stunned. My husband grabbed me with both his hands around my neck. I could not breathe. He had never ever done that before. I was not prepared in my mind to defend myself. I was most certainly in a victim mindset.

The Power of Jesus NAME

HOWEVER…SUDDENLY…

God had prepared me. I remembered that I had recently heard a Bible Study on the radio about the power of Jesus’ NAME.
With no breath in me, The Holy Spirit yelled out of my mouth…

J E S U S !

AND THEN…SUDDENLY…

My husband’s hands FLEW AWAY from my neck and I went from Victim to Victor.

The Faithfulness of our God

“In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice…and my cry came before Him even to His ears…”

“He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for they were too strong for me…”

Psalm 18: 6, 17

WHY did God do that for me?

That, my friends, was a definite act of GRACE and FAVOR toward me.

AND toward my husband and my children. What if my husband had succeeded?

But to God be the Glory! He did NOT succeed! Almighty God showed me the POWER that is in the very NAME OF JESUS.

God showed His love when we did not earn or deserve it. We were ALL in a very carnal state.

Why did He rescue us?

Psalm 18:19b “He delivered me because He delighted in me.”

“When you know that Jesus changes everything, you see that there is no area of our lives where Christ does not make something beautiful, even from ashes.”

Our Daily Bread devotional.

“Mighty One, You are an amazing God; greater than my ability to imagine, beyond any word I could use to describe You.”…
”Heavenly Father, You’re greater than the most powerful forces in the world. Use me to point others to your grace.”

Neglecting these 12 Things Will Steal Your Joy

Joyful woman - don't let these things steal your joy

Will Power is Not Enough.

Everyone can benefit from having an experienced coach to help you see things a bit more clearly. To cheer you on, through the rough days and the dull, ordinary, lackluster days. Today, I want to shine the light on somethings that can steal your joy.

Years ago, I began compiling a list of these dozen suggestions to explore when sheer will power was not enough. Practical ways. For many, It has been a great way to get unstuck. To re-discover their joy. My clients have found these things useful when they can’t seem to rise above their feelings. And become the woman God always intended.

Pick and choose from these dozen suggestions for ways to get practical. Or do them all…YOU choose what works best for you…They are not in any particular order of importance. Just a random list of things that actually work…

Neglecting these 12 Things Will Steal Your Joy

  1. Have you had protein? Enough water?
  2. Have you had enough sleep? (6-8 hours/night)
  3. Are you listening to Christian praise and worship music?
  4. When was the last time you did something just for fun?
  5. Smile. Even if you don’t feel like it. 😃 Than, do it again and again!
  6. Get in the Bible! Stay there awhile. (None of this 5 minute stuff if you really want to soar!)
  7. Embrace the emotion you are feeling. Try this: Set the timer. Feel the emotion. Pray. Then move on. Repeat if needed.
  8. Journal for clarity (Brain Dump). No one else has to ever see it. Just getting it out on paper often is helpful for clarity.
  9. Get outside and walk.
  10. LOOK for evidence of God. He is EVERYWHERE!
  11. CHOOSE to tithe.
  12. Jesus says…”WHEN you fast…”

BONUS: Choose to be around people that make you laugh and draw closer to God. They are soul-filling.

Let’s Greet the New Year With Enthusiasm

Excited young woman

New Beginnings. Do you sometimes feel stuck and as though life is passing you by? Like there ought to be more than THIS??? Isn’t it time you did something that will help you move toward that dream/vision/ new beginning that you’ve just never followed through on…for whatever reason…and yet it still kinda haunts you? It just won’t “go away”. You know what I’m talking about. It’s that idea that is always lurking around in the background of your mind.

I first had a dream like that in 1978 and finally–in 2008–I hired a Christian Life Coach and asked him to teach me how to do what he did. It was a new beginning. He held that vision for me when it would get a bit weak and seemed far away. He held it and encouraged me until the dream is now a reality and I am now a Christian Life Coach, too. I am now my own boss. And I can choose my own hours and even better than that is the fact that I get to breathe life into the dreams of others, now. Just like my coach did for me! It just doesn’t get any better than that! Why not do what I did…and follow through on YOUR dream until it becomes a reality… With the help of a coach! That’s what we do.

I’d like to make it a bit easier for you to follow through on that dream toward a new beginning. If you commit to three months of coaching, then you can enjoy the fourth month FREE.  If you don’t take advantage of it, it’s like you are just throwing away a gift toward your future joy as you pursue a new perspective. A new way of looking at your life. And that would be sad!

I look forward to hearing from you very soon. You can contact me through the website at loavesandfishescoaching.com and we can arrange a FREE inquiry phone call so I can answer your questions and you can decide if coaching is right for you.

I love helping people with new beginnings. And I love giving gifts. Let me bless you this way so you can begin your journey toward new beginnings, just like I did a few years ago! You don’t want to wait as long as I did to find your true fulfillment in walking in your strengths!

Fear Not! Rejoice! Christmas is Here!

Nativity Scene

God loves you. God loves me. Fear Not. Rejoice. THAT is the Christmas message God wants us to embrace!

David Jeremiah said that the opposite of fear is not courage. Rather, the opposite of fear is love. Fear is the opposite force of faith. Faith comes from meditating on the promises of God. His promises are all borne out of love for His creation. Fear entered the human race at the same time sin entered in the garden. God wants His people to be free of fear. But for that to happen, there must be a renewing of the mind. And that renewing takes time…WITH the Creator in prayer AND in His Word. And it also comes from purposefully observing Him in action all around you.

When you and I really, really realize how much God loves us and wants the best for us, we learn to trust Him; and fear is overcome by faith and the knowledge of His absolute love for you and me. And THAT is why we celebrate Christmas! We remember the loving sacrifice of our Creator. If you have ever seen a child suffer, you will have a small inkling of the pain it caused the Father to see His Son, Jesus, suffer on our behalf. For you and for me! That should cause us to pause a bit. Soak that into your heart. He did it out of love…to show us the way HOME.

(AND BTW, I am just reminding myself and you that we know that Christmas is not complete without Easter!)

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

I John 4:18 (NKJV)

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

God still answers prayer.

Sometimes the answer is long in coming. And it may not be what we asked for, but it is undoubtedly what our Father knows we need.

Immanuel.

Father God. Lord of lords. Prince of Peace. King of kings. God with us. Always. Every moment You are WITH us. Thank you for hearing my prayer for my friends:

Lord, please keep us from a complaining spirit. Grow gratitude in us. Remind us to not take things personally. To NOT take offense. Cleanse us of everything not of you. Give us a hunger and determination to spend more time with you in 2023. Show us more of You this Christmas season and then, more and more each day. Thank You for Your patience with us. Thank You for your providing for our daily needs. You are more Glorious than diamonds, as the song goes. Thank you, dear Father, for Christmas! Thank you for Love. Thank You we can pray in Jesus’ Name and You hear our hearts’ desires. To God be the Glory!

Onward Christian soldiers! The battle rages on. However, our Commander-in-Chief is the Blessed Controller of all things.

God bless you bunches. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Guest Post: Christmas is Coming. A Christmas Healing.

Christmas Is Coming book cover

With gratitude to my friend and Author, Heather Hart, for giving me the opportunity to share this guest post with you.

This is Chapter 11 from her wonderfully blessed book, Christmas is Coming. A Devotional For The Holiday Season. It is currently free on Kindle and audio; and is just a little over $6.00 in paperback. Don’t miss out on this great gift idea.

You can find it here on Amazon.com.

“If I only touch his garment, I will be made well.”

Matthew 9:21

For the past twelve years the woman had been bleeding and that made her an outcast. Still, she heard the whispers…there was a man who could heal anything. Because of Him, paralytics walked, lepers were healed, the blind could see, and the dead were raised. She had heard the stories and she believed each and every one of them. He was the answer to the desire of her heart. He could make her well.

Yet she was an outcast. Who was she to approach the Messiah? Nobody; she was a nobody.

As the stories swirled around her, one day she heard that Jesus was coming. Christmas was coming. He was surrounded by a huge crowd, but that was fine with her. All she needed was to get close enough to touch Him. She knew that with as powerful as He was, that was all she needed. So, weaving through the crowd, that’s just what she did.

She made her way to Jesus, reached out, and touched the hem of His garment. And it worked. Instantly the woman was healed. She could feel it. And so could Jesus. But Jesus didn’t let her just walk away…

“Who touched me?” He asked, and the woman startled. She knew she wasn’t worthy, but it was done. What would He say when He found out that it just her? She had no right to even be there.

Jesus waited for her to come forward, but He already knew. That’s the thing about Jesus: He doesn’t heal those who deserve it, none of us do. But still He wants us to come.

Jesus may or may not heal our physical ailments, but He will always heal our hearts when we bring them to Him. When we trust Jesus with our problems, He can move mountains. He can heal our broken hearts and mend our wounds. He can miraculously heal us or give us peace and strength for whatever lies ahead. All we have to do is reach for Jesus.

And the woman who reached for Jesus isn’t alone. The pages of Scripture are filled with accounts of people who were running to Jesus when He came to town. They came running because Christmas was coming. They had faith that He had the power to help them, and He still has the power to help us today. We just have to have faith and bring our problems to Him.

The people in the Bible had so much faith that they tore through the roof of someone’s home, so they could get their friend to Jesus. I want to have that kind of faith. Not just for myself but for my friends and family. To know that Jesus is the answer no matter what the question is.

Christmas is coming, and I am bringing my heart back to Jesus. This season may not be picture perfect or storybook worthy, but those things don’t matter to Jesus. This Christmas and always Jesus wants our hearts. He wants us to have faith in Him, because it’s by our faith we are healed.

Taking it off the pages…

Whatever is weighing on your heart this Christmas, I encourage you to bring it to Jesus. Lay it at His feet and let Him heal your heart. Whenever you start to grow weary, pause for a moment and cast your cares on Jesus, because He cares for you. (I Pt 5:7)

“Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace.”

Luke 8:18

“Where Two or Three Are Gathered”

“Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

What encouraging verses! Full of promise…

The wonderful blessing about the Bible is that there is always the opportunity to get fresh insights and learn new principles. That happened to me just this last week.

For many years when praying with others–whether with seasoned saints, or in a group setting–inevitably there will be someone asking that we “agree with them” in prayer. I would wonder: Is there more power if someone AGREES with us in prayer?

They would pray something like: “Lord, you promise:  if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them; …Thank You that You promise wherever two or three have gathered in Your name, You are there.

The implication has been that if He is here, listening to our prayers, then naturally, He will say YES to whatever we are praying. (IF there are two or three of us agreeing, that is.) It felt kinda like a good luck charm. A genie in a bottle type of magic prayer. A name it, claim it and bag it kinda prayer.

It has made me uneasy for years, but I didn’t know why. I never bothered to look up the verse in context while someone was praying (Or even afterwards, either). These were seasoned saints. Mature Christians. It was a given. No questions asked. But it still felt off to me somehow. Yet, I just shrugged it off and went on with my life. Until I couldn’t anymore.

Mystery Revealed

I have learned that if I wait long enough, God will reveal what has previously been a mystery. I LOVE when that happens. This last week, my Encounter with God daily devotional lesson was God’s instrument to enlighten me. God loves to surprise us like that!

Wonder of wonders! By reading verse 20 in context. (Matthew 18:15-20 NAS) as part of my assignment that day I discovered the TRUTH. And I finally understood my uneasiness. That verse was being taken out of context in those prayer meetings. It is a great verse, but it is not for the purpose of answering just any prayer we might pray. It is addressing a specific issue. It is actually part of a teaching of reconciliation in a Christian setting, where one person has gone astray and the TWO or THREE are those attempting to restore the ONE. The TWO or THREE are to be witnesses to the conversations about the offense or sin. Like in a court of law.

It is FIRST to be handled privately. If unsuccessful, then two or three witnesses go with the one. If that is unsuccessful, then it is taken before the church/group. And when done according to Scripture, the Lord will add His blessing, by being there with you through it all. He will never leave us or forsake us. Even if the ONE refuses to reconcile and goes their separate way.

It is a beautiful plan. But sadly, it doesn’t seem to be practiced much. The plan is hard work. It is focused work. Focused on the outcome of reconciliation for the ONE going astray. The enemy of our souls knows that it is much easier to get us distracted from the context of the verse, which is ultimately for the good of all.
(It is much “easier” to ask someone to agree with you in prayer, rather than doing the “grunt” work of restoration.)

Application

“Care and a loving attitude should go hand in hand with such discipline…This is all very challenging, but Jesus promises His blessing on action properly taken to try to reconcile believers to one another.”

–Encounter with God (November 2022)

Discipline, Prayer, Reconciliation (Let’s recap it all … in Biblical context)

“Now if your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that ON THE]TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY MATTER MAY BE CONFIRMED. And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven. 20 For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”

Matthew 18: 15-20 NAS

How Is Your Inner Peace Doing?

Loaves & Fishes Coaching

Peace, no matter what

Peace, peace, perfect peace. Is it possible? How do we get it? Since it’s a part of the Fruit of the Spirit, is it automatic when you become a Christ-follower? Sounds like a tall order. AND it WOULD be if we were dependent on ourselves to make it happen. God has a plan…

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Don’t be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus

Philippians 4:5-7 NIV

So, we have choices to make

God has already done HIS part. But…OUR part is to choose to delight in God, to choose joy, to choose gentleness in our relationships. OUR part is to choose to NOT worry about ANYTHING, and to talk to God about everything. OUR part is to choose thankfulness. And then, we receive that settled peace…that peace in our inner selves that is actually difficult to explain to anyone who hasn’t experienced it. Because it is unexplainable. It seems impossible. But…God has a plan…

So, when we choose God’s plan…

Inner peace guards our hearts and minds so that we can feel at rest in the knowledge that our Father has our best interest at heart and will be with us through it all, no matter what.

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go

Joshua 1:9

Walking in that peace…

Walking courageously, leaving discouragement behind, we can be assured God is with us. OUR part is to choose to check ourselves to see if we are walking in an attitude of pride, because God says that He shows favor to those who leave pride behind and walk in the humility of knowing that NOTHING is possible without God’s intervention. NOTHING! We are not able to even take a single breath without God’s causing it to happen.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:6-7 NIV

THEN, we are in a position to resist the devil’s schemes. AND THEN the devil will flee.

Jesus is our example. He was tempted by satan in the desert after his baptism. Jesus used Scripture to resist the devil’s schemes. And after satan ran out of ideas, he left Jesus (temporarily). satan fled from Jesus. Only to return with a more sinister plot another day.

And that’s also how it is with us. We must never let our guard down. The temptations will come, God has a plan.

A time of rejoicing

Each victory over our prideful self, each resistance of the devil’s schemes, brings us delight and joy. We are overcomers. In the strength of the Holy Spirit. By the power of God. In the Name of Jesus. He has a plan.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

Psalm 119:165 (KJV)

Delight yourselves in God, yes, find your joy in him at all times. Have a reputation for gentleness, and never forget the nearness of your Lord. Don’t worry over anything whatever; tell God every detail of your needs in earnest and thankful prayer, and the peace of God which transcends human understanding, will keep constant guard over your hearts and minds as they rest in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:5-7 (J.B. Phillips)

Life’s Constantly Moving Targets. Setting Priorities.

Woman looking at camera

Here we go again.

It is that time of year to begin taking stock of you life. Setting goals. Are there changes you need to make? What do you like/want to keep? What do you want to work on? What do you need help with?

January is just around the corner.

And leading up to January is typically the time for evaluating last year; and for setting fresh priorities for the new year.

Reprioritize your focus.

Setting priorities in the middle of life’s constantly moving targets should probably be done in sound bites rather than all at once. Take time to do it deliberately and with mindfulness. It is just too easy to get discouraged in that “not yet” state of being…So, take it slow and deliberately. Examine family, work, church, play obligations. What goes? What stays?

Ask yourself: most important priority?

The Apostle John teaches (see John 3:1-21) you MUST be born again. It is not an option. It is by God’s design. You can be assured that out of this flows all the power of God to help you accomplish all He has for you. It is not an option. We are each created by His design. Our God knows what is best for each of us individually. For our eternity. This is the starting place and is non-negotiable if you want TRUE success.

What is evidence you are born again?

You become a follower of Jesus. You get to know Him through His Word…the Bible. It is not the words you speak. Or any act you do. It is WHO are you following? WHO is your role model?

What is evidence you are a follower of Jesus?

You long for and have a relationship with Jesus. You look forward to time reading and studying His Word. Memorizing it. The sword of the Spirit. The weapon you can pull out to fight the devil’s discouragement and roadblocks along the paths of life.

You begin to talk with Him about what you read. Learning to trust Him more with each passing day. You can’t see the wind, but you can observe its power. You can’t see the Spirit but you can feel it each day as He encourages and guides you as you spend time with Him. He desires to disciple you. And that takes time. This is: Priority #1.

What is evidence you have a relationship with Jesus?

You are steadily becoming more like Him in thought, word, and deed. It doesn’t happen overnight. It is a gradual process. Just like the parent/child relationship. The child has to learn the various aspects of growing up. So does the child of God. You start with milk and you graduate to meat. You begin to show evidence you are: The follower of Jesus. The disciple of Jesus. YOU! 😉

In a nutshell.

Re-prioritize your focus. Your #1 focus is your relationship with Jesus as a follower of Christ. God will take care of the rest. You will be amazed how things fall into place when you turn to Him for guidance about everything.

Separation Anxiety.

When you first make that step, there can be a separation anxiety. Things may feel strange. And even periodically along the way, it is common to lose focus and suffer from separation anxiety. But do what you did at first and peace will return.

The solution?

Always: Come “Home” to Jesus.

“Father, I easily drown in a sea of priorities. Give me grace to accept that my relationship with You should be the most important goal of my life.”

Scripture Union’s Encounter with God. November 17, 2016.

I’d love to talk with you about your goals and priorities. Click the blue button and let’s get started!

God bless you bunches!

Bake Your Enemy a Cake

Making a cake

Take no Offense

It is a challenging lesson to master. When something hurtful happens to me or a friend, I sometimes laugh and say “life would be great if it weren’t for the people in it.” Of course, that is silly, but it gets me OFF the MAD train and brings my sense of humor back. What I am meaning is that people interactions are where the rubber meets the road and shows us truths about ourselves. People are like a mirror that James speaks about. Reactions from people show us clearly how closely we are in reflecting Christ in our interactions.

God has been teaching me the phrase: “I will take no offense,” To CHOOSE to NOT take offense is so freeing.

When someone is rude, or unkind or negligent to show love or kindness, I can just re-focus my feelings by saying “I will take no offense”.

War Room Movie

I am reminded of the War Room movie and the phrase from Elizabeth, as she talks with God: “I’m not their judge. YOU are, God. But please…if they are doing something wrong/sinful, don’t let them get away with it.”

It’s all a way to remind me that GOD is GOD and I am NOT. It actually causes me to relax and to keep my joy! It keeps me from taking up an offense. It keeps me from getting angry and blaming others for my angry attitude. Anger is exhausting. Plus…it accomplishes nothing but giving me a headache or a stomach-ache.

Derek Prince

taught on the reality that we must go the FIRST mile of doing what is necessary and required, before we can go the SECOND mile of doing more than is required.

Bake Your Enemy a Cake

Many years ago, at the Christian Brotherhood Fellowship, Buddy Medlock taught on forgiveness and turning the other cheek. On going the extra mile.

Buddy did not function well in the kitchen, but when he and another person had a disagreement, he would go to apologize, but he would first do something that was difficult for him.

Forgive and Bless Your Enemy

He would bake a cake. And he would take that cake along with his apology. The apology was the FIRST MILE. The cake was the SECOND MILE.

(Love is…)
“Never rude; love is never selfish, never quick to take offense. Love keeps no score of wrongs.”

1 Corinthians 13:5 (Revised English Bible)

We ask you, brothers and sisters, to warn those who do not work. Encourage the people who are afraid. Help those who are weak. Be patient with everyone. Be sure that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to do what is good for each other and for all people. Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.

Chilly Weather? Cuddle Up to a Quick & Yummy Meal

Meal setting

Impossible Cauliflower Quiche Recipe

(Bake 350 degrees // 25-30 minutes)
(double or triple the amounts if needed)

  • 9 oz package of frozen cauliflower
  • Onion salt to taste
  • Green Pepper (optional)
  • 1 cup shredded colby or cheddar or your favorite cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup Bisquick baking mix (or gluten free alternative)
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Place drained cauliflower in greased 9” pie pan. Sprinkle with onion salt, green pepper and cheese. Place remaining ingredients into a blender, then cover and whirl 15 seconds. Pour into the pie pan. Bake 350 degrees 25-30 minutes–until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean and the top is golden.

Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

Garnish with sliced tomato quarters and raw spinach or parsley, or anything that you like.

Scalloped Tomatoes

(Bake 350 // 25-30 minutes)
(double or triple the amounts if needed)

  • 2 cans peeled tomatoes (or stewed tomatoes)
  • 6 slices buttered toast, cubed
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Onion salt (optional)

Mix the ingredients together. Place in a baking dish. Place pads of butter on the top. Bake at 350 degrees 25-30 minutes.

Add a salad and a dessert and you’ve got a quick easy yummy meal.

Graham Cracker and Applesauce Dessert

(No baking required) (For each serving)

Choose a small plate for each person’s serving.

  • 4 halves graham crackers for each person
  • Applesauce
  • Cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream or BOTH Smile

Place one half of graham cracker on the plate, add a tablespoonful of applesauce, and for each serving, alternate 4 layers of graham cracker halves and a tablespoon of applesauce. The top layer is applesauce. Add a small dash of cinnamon, top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a squirt of whipped cream.

Repeat for each individual serving. You can make them up ahead of time and keep them in the refrigerator. (The graham crackers soften.)

OR eat immediately. It is an easy and yummy dessert either way.

Embrace the chilly weather and enjoy the time together to cuddle up to a quick and easy meal.

And, how cool is this… to God be the Glory…Because of the time you have saved on meal prep, you now have extra time to just enjoy being with each other. Maybe play a game of Scrabble or Monopoly or 500 Rummy. Let me know how your evening turned out. Let’s plan more times like this, friends. We are far too busy. Let’s find ways to slow down and maximize the GIFT OF TIME GOD HAS GIVEN US.

Until next time…
